It was my third time to ride with a group of bikers, people i had just met once for short time. We started our ride at 10pm from Pune with total 16 riders. The roads till Shikrapur Phata were with heavy traffic. It was frustrating and took us 2hrs just to cross Ranjangaon. But then the road opened up.
It was Amavasya and was pitch dark. Thanks to the marshalas who were monitoring the riders, keeping everyone in one row, managing the heavy vehicles to slow down so that we can get a exit to cross. Our marshals had bright LED lights installed which helped see the road in more clear.
Our group was consist of Skilled riders to first timers amatuers and it was really nice to see that the group was riding in moderate pace waiting for anyone falling back just in case. My previous experience with other two groups were just the opposite. Everyone were crusing fast not caring about others are keeping up or not. At times they made fun of them who were tail enders, and that the reason why I had stopped going with groups.
With sufficient breaks for fuel, Tea, stretching, the ride never felt like it was 170 odd kms.
